About 350,000 tweets are sent out a minute on Twitter. That’s about 6,000 a second and 500 million a day. There is a mass of information waiting to be read, and sometimes it can be hard to find a specific tweet posted due to the nature of the search system, which focusses on keywords and names, rather than trawling back through time to find a users posts. Not any more though, as Twitter has a new system in place which allows a user to search for any Tweet posted. Ever.

Tweets from the Past

Twitter have been indexing all posts made since 2006, and with a new search engine rolling out in the next few days, anyone can find your past material if they so desire to. The current system in place is focussed on users searching for current tweets, with any past posts indexed out after a week, but now you can go further with the updated advanced search options. Just hope you don’t have anything embarrassing kicking about from eight years ago…

Twitter have been slow with bringing out an advanced search system, http://www.mindanews.com/buy-accutane/ only allowing users to search for keywords in 2011, so it’s welcome to see some advanced options finally being put in place.

Business Tweeting

For Businesses on Twitter, a consistent voice is needed, so people can’t trawl back and find contradictions in your past history, or uncover any forgotten unsavoury material. The new search options can be beneficial to a company too, it isn’t all about pulling up long forgotten tweets, and more options for your tweets to be found means more chances for a user to stumble across your business.

RS Digital can provide an experienced social media team to make sure all your tweets are tailored to a voice, which will cause no shame when searched for over time. As Twitter search engines improve over time, Tweets need to be carefully handled so mistakes or poorly thought out posts don’t come from the past to haunt you in the present. Twitter is one of the best ways to get your company’s voice heard, and with RS Digital you can leave it to us to handle your social media campaign.
